Antígona opens June 29th

In preparation for starring in Antígona, I’ve enjoyed learning my lines more than ever before. Antígona is a modern classic of Latin American theatre written by José Watanabe, and translated by Cristina Pérez-Díaz. Watanabe, one of Peru’s most revered contemporary poets, wrote the play in free verse. Pérez-Díaz’ translation captures not only the meaning, but the poetry of the script as well. The subtle consonance, assonance, and alliteration make memorizing every word of this one-woman show a joy!

I hope you’ll save the date and come see this Asylum Theatre production directed by Sarah O’Connell, presented in partnership with Clark County, NV. We are very grateful for support from the National Endowment for the Arts, Winchester Dondero Cultural Center, Barons Court Theatre, WEST: World of English Speaking Theatres, and Out of the Wings.
