Latinx Pop Magazine Interview

Years ago, when I started getting serious about translating my grandfather’s plays, I researched online to try to grasp his body of work, beyond the few physical copies I had inherited. I was able to find titles, most of which I had never heard of before, scattered in libraries around the globe. I noticed with excitement that a handful of them were in the LILAS Benson Collection at University of Texas at Austin. Travelling there, spending a day amid the labyrinth of bookshelves, and delving deep into the microfiche is an experience I will never forget.

To now be interviewed by Erika Abad for Latinx Pop Magazine, which is based out of UT Austin, feels like a full circle moment, since my translations factored into our wide ranging conversation on theatre, translation, and community in Las Vegas. Read the interview at www.latinxpopmag.com.
